Risk has always been a part of agriculture. But, farming in America is a ball game that has changed dramatically over the past few years. Increasingly, farmers and ranchers are learning that it is now a game with new rules, new stakes, and most of all, new risks.
Keeping up with changes in American agriculture and specifically in the risk environment can be a daunting task. Therefore, the Crop Insurance Research Bureau (CIRB) has put together a list of insurance industry experts who can answer questions that you, as a member of the media, might have. Types of Crop Insurance Coverage
- CROP HAIL coverage gives you acre by acre protection up to the actual cash value of the crop. This is a wholly private product underwritten and delivered by private sector insurance providers. The remainder are federal products delivered by private sector insurance providers.
